Ingredients

For the apples
  • 4 apples medium, crisp, cored and cut into 1/4-inch slices
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
For the caramel drizzle
  • 0.5 cup caramel sauce
For the chocolate drizzle
  • 0.33 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp coconut oil
For the toppings
  • 0.25 cup peanuts roasted salted, chopped
  • 0.25 cup mini chocolate candies

Equipment

  • 1 microwave
  • 1 large serving platter

Method

Prepare the apples
  1. Toss the apple slices with the lemon juice in a large bowl until lightly coated.
  2. Arrange the apple slices in overlapping layers on a large serving platter.
Make the caramel drizzle
  1. Microwave the caramel sauce in a microwave-safe bowl for 20 to 30 seconds, stirring until smooth and pourable.
  2. Drizzle the warm caramel evenly over the apples.
Make the chocolate drizzle
  1. Microwave the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a microwave-safe bowl in 15-second intervals, stirring after each, until melted and smooth, about 30 to 45 seconds total.
  2. Drizzle the melted chocolate over the apples.
Finish the nachos
  1. Sprinkle the chopped peanuts and mini chocolate candies evenly over the top.
  2. Serve.

Notes

For the best texture, serve soon after assembling so the apple slices stay crisp. Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 1 day; freezing is not recommended. For a peanut-free option, use chopped roasted sunflower seeds instead.
