Ingredients

Make the truffles
  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese softened
Coating and decoration
  • 1 package (16 oz) green candy melts
  • 36 red heart sprinkles

Equipment

  • 1 food processor
  • 1 rimmed baking sheet

Method

Make the truffles
  1. Line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Finely crush the Oreo cookies in a food processor.
  3. Add the cream cheese and process until evenly combined.
  4. Scoop the mixture into 36 portions and roll them into balls.
  5. Arrange the balls on the baking sheet and refrigerate for 1 hour, until firm.
Coat and decorate
  1. Melt the green candy melts in a deep microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
  2. Dip each chilled truffle in the melted candy, letting excess drip back into the bowl.
  3. Return each truffle to the baking sheet and immediately top with a red heart sprinkle.
  4. Refrigerate for 20 to 30 minutes, until the coating is set.
  5. Store the truffles covered in the refrigerator.

Notes

For a smooth coating, stir the candy melts after every 30-second interval and avoid overheating them. Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 5 days; freeze for up to 2 months. For a dairy-free version, use dairy-free cream cheese and candy melts.
